David Young, Course Director Prague
David joined the team in October 2001 having worked teaching a variety of courses in both the Czech Republic and Spain since 1993. From a first EFL job teaching in summer camps to kids, he has gone on to teach exam preparation courses, design and run various ESP (English for Special Purposes) courses for engineers, management and Human Resources at a large multi-national in Syria, and worked as Director of Studies for a language school in Prague. Since taking the Trinity Licentiate Diploma in TESOL, David has run teacher training courses in Barcelona, Madrid, Hong Kong, Paris and Prague.
David enjoys table football, cooking and going to concerts.

Sean Hayward, Course Tutor and Careers Officer
Before becoming an English teacher, Sean worked in banking, retail, youth training, industry, and as a musician, having graduated in English Literature and Social Psychology from Lancaster University in 1983. He entered the ELT industry in 1997 after completing the Trinity Cert. TESOL in Barcelona through Oxford TEFL where founders and directors, Duncan and Nick, were his tutors. He worked in Barcelona for six years, teaching in-company, exam preparation classes and general English for children, teenagers and adults.
He completed the Trinity Licentiate Diploma at OxfordTEFL, Barcelona in June 2002 and joined as a Teaching Practice tutor the following September. In August 2003 he teamed up with David in Prague, and he has been here ever since sharing the role of Course Director and Careers Officer.

Andrea Downing, Course Tutor
Andrea spent her early working life in West Africa, doing sociological research. Back in the UK she worked in youth training and the careers service before heading into academia at the University of Liverpool. She became an English teacher in 1999, looking to make some extra money to support a life of travel and adventure, but became hooked on teaching and has since worked in Brazil, China, Estonia, Oman, Lebanon and Prague teaching everyone from school children to company executives. She worked as Assistant Director of Studies in Prague and Head of English at universities in Oman and Lebanon before coming to Oxford TEFL in June 2006 after completing her Cambridge DELTA course.

John Coan, Course Tutor
John obtained a Trinity College CertTESOL in London in 1993, and has been involved in TEFL ever since, teaching in-company, exam preparation, and general English classes to young learners and adults in Spain, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, as well as the Czech Republic. He came back to Prague in 2000, and has been training teachers since 2002, joining the team at Oxford TEFL in November 2007. In his spare time, John likes listening to strange old music and watching strange old films."
He is currently learning why it's not a good idea to be away when the digital camera is in school and the website is being edited ;-)

Jitka has been working with OxfordTEFL since the beginning of 2008.

Jana Hudáková, Office Manager
Jana comes from Slovakia, a small but wonderful country neighbouring the Czech Republic. At the moment, she is studying at the University of Economics in Prague in the field of International Trade. She is passionate about languages, especially French as a second language and a little bit of Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys sports, visits her home country and travels. Her main duties in the school include office administration, classes for Czech students and marketing as well as helping out trainees on the course.

Tracy Harmon, Course Co-ordinator
Tracy has been living in Prague for the past two years, completing her TEFL course and joining the ranks of English teachers. She graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee with a degree in music business. Volunteering with AmeriCorps*VISTA, she moved to the bush of Alaska. Making good friends with the bears and caribou, she stayed with them for four years, making ends meet as a flight dispatcher.
Having always wanted to try teaching English as a foreign language, she moved to Prague in May 2006. She loves working with new people and sharing the enthusiasm with new trainees. In her spare time, she likes traveling, reading (everything from Harry Potter to Viktor Frankl and Richard Feynman), the arts, and playing piano upside down.
