OxfordTEFL is among the most highly-regarded teacher training institutions in Europe. Last year more than 400 teachers gained their Trinity CertTESOL in our centres in Prague, Barcelona and Cadiz and around 20 completed their Trinity Diploma in TESOL.

OxfordTEFL Prague is the younger cousin of OxfordTEFL Barcelona, and has been running courses since 2002. David and Sean both worked for OxfordTEFL in Barcelona before moving to help set things up in Prague and have been joined by a dedicated team in our permanent premises in Konviktská, in Prague's famous Old Town.

Our careers service maintains close links with local TEFL schools, so can pass vacancy and other job-related info onto current trainees and the burgeoning army of CertTESOL graduates. Often representatives from schools in Prague, the Czech Republic and abroad will come in to talk to current trainees about what they can offer the newly-qualified TEFL teacher.

Oxford Tefl Prague is built on the same philosophy as its Barcelona counterpart. As such there is quite a community based around the school, both professional and social; graduates often return to teach in-centre classes, or simply return to the regular weekly pub night to catch up with students and staff and to meet new trainees.

A further facet to the Prague school is the in-company teaching department. OxfordTEFL graduates are preferred as recruits for this growing operation.

Location and Premises

The school is located in the heart of Prague's old town in the ground floor of a newly refurbished listed building which was once a convent! Konviktska is a small street situated 3 minutes walk from the old town square and about 5 from the Charles Bridge. The nearest Metro stations are Staromestska or Mustek and numerous trams run close by. Excellent bars, pubs and restaurants are very close at hand, as well as some of the most stunning streets and squares of Prague's old town. map

The school is fully equipped with computers, photocopier, video and reference library. If you have your own laptop, the centre offers both cable free hook-up to our network as well as wi-fi.

There are 3 classrooms, a resource centre, small kitchen area for making coffee, reception area and office. The building is set back from the street in a leafy courtyard with a peaceful atmosphere. In short the perfect location and setting for your course.
